Flourishing

He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.  Proverbs 11:28

Spring is here and with all its wonderful glory.  Noticing the color green this time of year is not hard.  Green leaves, green grass, green moss, and green bushes are everywhere we turn.  It is as if God’s hand of favor has painted the earth green for our enjoyment once again.

Taking our eyes off the Lord and the beauty that surrounds us places each of us in a dark, dingy self centered place.  Even in spring when God our creator places the flourishing green leaves around us they go unnoticed due to us placing our trust in ourselves.

Our world has very little to offer you and me even in the beauty of spring.  With the economy in turmoil, rumors of wars surrounding us, and a very uncertain future there is only one place you and I are able to see continuous flourishing green growth all year long.

Taking root in our Lord Jesus Christ and placing our trust in him, allows each of us and the ministry he has placed before us, to flourish, grow and spread even in the darkest times.  God’s hand of favor is visibly seen by others and opportunities to share Christ are continuously at our doorsteps.

So brothers and sisters in Christ, live a life of faith this spring.  Flourish, grow and be grounded in our Lord this season and watch God do amazing, wonderful, exciting things through you, your ministry and those who serve beside you, simply for trusting Him.

Flourishing for Him,

Marty

Fresh Bread for your Food Recipients

Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.  Psalm 37:3

Dear Friend,

The world has very little to offer each of us but by trusting in the Lord and cultivating the land of faithfulness, we dwell in a much higher place with him.  Place your trust in the Lord today.

This slice of living bread was served to you today by God’s word the Bible and the __________________________ ministry.

Can This Idea for Your Food Pantry

Ask a children’s Sunday school class (3rd grade or above) to cut large flowers out of different colored construction paper and write or paste the following verse on each flower.  Decorate flowers with markers, crayons or stickers for fun.  Once the children have made the flowers, place them in the bags of food for your food recipients to receive.

For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Galatians 6:8

May Food Collection Idea

Canned Spring Greens Wanted!  Anything and everything green that comes in a can is desired in the food pantry this month.  Collard greens, green beans, green peas, spinach, etc., collect it all.

Encourage small groups, Sunday school classes, Bible study groups, children of all ages to donate green canned goods by placing ads in various church media… such as church bulletin, website, flyers in classrooms, etc.  Make sure you note where to bring and drop off their canned donations, then watch the green canned goods come in. Hallelujah!
